Psalm 136:1 says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever."
During many of our worship services, our praise team sings a song that I love: “His Love Endures Forever.” I was singing this song just the other day as I drove to work and thought about the words of that great song. When I got to the office, I turned to Psalm 136. Throughout the chapter, each verse ends with the same statement: “His love endures forever.” I know that we face many difficulties in this life. I know that we face many uncertainties, as well. However, the more we focus on the difficulties and the uncertainties of this life, the more we begin to underestimate our great God and His enduring love. In the book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar learned the hard way that God is sovereign. And in His sovereignty, God still loves. God forgives. God is in complete control. His love endures forever! The more I focus on this fact, that His love endures forever, the more I am filled with gratitude in my heart. I want to sing and shout it out: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever!” Will you sing it out and shout it out with me?
