"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25
I love when my brothers and sisters in Christ, the church, gathers together to fellowship, to pray, to study, and to worship...TOGETHER! As a pastor, I am encouraged and strengthened by my fellow Christ followers' faith. My church family definitely fires me up to preach the Word and to serve my Father and the people of my community. And let's remember the difference between the church house and the church: the church house is just a building, a meeting place; we are the church...each one of us as Christ followers. Each Christ follower is so important to the church, as well. At times, you may think that you are not important because you don't serve on a ministry team or you don't sing in the choir or you don't teach Bible study, but your are just as important as anyone else! All of us can be an encourager; we can all help "spur one another on toward love and good deeds." I hope that we will choose to be faithful to God each and everyday, and I hope that we will choose to be faithful to His church...the body of Christ...each time she meets together, especially as we "see the Day approaching." I have no doubt that Christ will return soon. I don't know the day or the hour, but I know He will return triumphantly to gather His people, the church, and take them to their true home because the Bible tells me so. But until that day comes, my prayer is that we choose to make "meeting together" a priority in our lives. Will "meeting together" at the church house be a priority for you today?
