"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Romans 12:18
It never fails. Every morning as I get ready to leave the house, I find this amazing sight at my garage door. I guess I should use the word confusing, as well. It is amazing and confusing at the same time. What amazes me and confuses me at the same time is our dog Buddy and our cat Precious cuddled up with each other on their pillow and blanket. It goes against everything I believed in as a little boy! Dogs and cats just aren't supposed to get along! It's not possible!!! The first few times I even tried to move the pillow and the blanket so they would get the point. I just couldn't let something like this happen, at least not at my house. But after a few weeks, it grew on me. I now expect to see Buddy and Precious cuddled up with each other, and I tell them bye as I get in my truck to go to work. I guess it is possible. I know it's silly, but it reminded me of the Scripture in Romans 12:18, where Paul says, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." If cats and dogs can live together at peace, then we can live together at peace, too. Can't we put aside our differences and work together to make this world a better place? Can't we actually live out the Scripture that says "love your neighbor as yourself"? If it is possible for cats and dogs to live at peace, couldn't it be possible for human beings to live at peace?
