"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus is no longer in the tomb. He has been raised again by the power of God. He has defeated sin and defeated death. His followers have been through an emotional and physical roller coaster. The chief priests think they have won the battle, but the resurrection tells a different story. Now they are forced to pay off people to spread lies and say that Jesus' body was stolen, not actually resurrected. The Bible says that story is still circulated among the Jews to this day. However, the Christ followers then and the Christ followers today know the truth. Jesus is alive. Praise God for the resurrection of our Savior. Before He left to take His place at the right side of the throne of God, Jesus left His followers with important instructions. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus told us what to do next. We are to be His witness. We are to reach, teach, and minister to people on His behalf. We don't have to do this in our own authority and power. We do this through the authority and power of Christ who lives in us. Never think for one minute that you are in this alone. Jesus' final words were, "And surely I am with you ALWAYS, to the very end of the age." He will not only empower you to be His witness, but He will also be with you while you are witnessing. Read it!
