Choose to worship God today!!!

"You alone are the Lord.  You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them.  You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you."  Nehemiah 9:6

Today we will have many choices to make.  What clothes will we wear?  What will we eat for breakfast?  Which bills will we pay first?  Do we need to respond to these email right now?  Many days we have the same choices over and over again.  Some days we are presented with new choices to make.  One thing will always remain the same, though: we have a choice to make each and every day when it comes to worship.  Today we WILL worship someone or something.  Many of us will worship our jobs and the money we make doing those jobs.  Many of us will worship our children as we relive life through their successes and failures.  Many of us will worship our status or our popularity with people.  Erwin McManus says, "The human spirit is designed for worship.  But it works best when we worship God.  Unfortunately, worship misleads us when we worship gods that are not gods at all."  We were created and designed to worship God.  When we worship someone or something else, we will never be completely satisfied.  That's why we keep finding new people and new things to worship.  However, we can choose to worship God today!  We can choose to worship the God that Nehemiah worshiped in Nehemiah 9:6.  He says, "You alone are the Lord."  He goes on to say, "You give life to everything."  Today, we should focus on the One and only Creator.  We should focus on the One and only Creator who breathes life into us...not merely air, but LIFE!  He alone is worthy of our worship.  Let's not allow worship to mislead us to gods who are not gods at all...gods that actually drain us of life rather than giving us life.  Let's allow worship to lead us to the God who truly loves us and knows us and can satisfy us.  Let's allow worship to flow from our hearts to His heart, and let's enjoy the presence of God in our lives today:)

I would love to hear your comments...
