God’s Special Possession

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."   1 Peter 2:9

I was driving home from school this past Saturday, and I noticed many different trees.  There were tall ones, short ones, skinny ones, and wide ones.  The leaves were shaped differently, but the colors are what really caught my eyes.  There were so many shades of green!  I don't think a crayon box could ever have as many shades of green as the trees God created have!  That same night, I went outside and looked up at the starts.  They were shining bright, and like the trees, there were big ones and small ones, bright ones and faint ones.  God really created some incredible things in our world and in our universe!  However, when I look at the Scriptures, nowhere in Scripture does it call all of these incredible things "God's special possession."  Only God's people are called that!  God created us in His image, and He breathed the breath of life into us.  And in 1 Peter 2:9, we find that we are "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION!"  And as His special possession, we should be declaring His praises in all that we say and do!  He has called us out of darkness, out of sin, and out of the less in life.  He has brought us into His wonderful light.  He has brought us into a life of more!  We are called to be more...more loving, more forgiving, more faithful, more compassionate, more like Christ!  Embrace the fact today that if you have admitted your sin before God and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, you are GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION!  If you haven't admitted your sin before God and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit calling you to Him.  You can become a child of God, a special possession.  And know that I am praying for you today:)

I would love to hear your comments...
