"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out." Proverbs 10:9
Is INTEGRITY important to you? What does that word mean? Integrity means having moral and ethical principals, being honest. My Aunt Nancy used to always say that if you have integrity then it means your honest when no one else is looking. Integrity is something our world is lacking. We see people fall everyday because of the "crooked paths" they have taken in life. Men and women in all walks of life struggle with integrity. This is not just an "out there" problem; it is and "in here" problem, as well. As Christ followers, we must strive to be men and women of integrity. David said in 1 Chronicles 29:17, "I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity." The Lord spoke to Solomon years later in 1 Kings 9:4-5 and said, "As for you, if you walk before me faithfully with integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, 'You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.'" The Bible tells us over and over again that a person of integrity pleases God. Many times we try to please God by giving money to charitable causes or please God by being in Sunday School every Sunday or please God by serving on this ministry team or that ministry team. And those are all good things. But why don't we try to please God by being people of integrity. It does matter what you are watching on television when no one else is there. It does matter what you are listening to on the iPod when no one else is there. It does matter how you treat that stranger in need when no one else is there. It matters to God. He is there. Is INTEGRITY important to you? It's important to God.
