You are not alone!

"For the sake of His great name the Lord will not reject His people, because the Lord was pleased to make you His own."   1 Samuel 12:22

I remember struggling as a kid with the darkness.  My dad would tell me good night, turn off my light, and walk out of the room.  Even though he and my mom were right down the hall, I felt all alone in the darkness.  I remember many times crying out to my dad to come back.  I would beg him to leave the light on so I wouldn't be in the darkness.  But do you know what I found out???  I was still alone, even with the light on.  What's crazy now is that my youngest son has this same problem.  He wants daddy to come turn on the light because it's dark in there.  Then when the light is turned on, he realizes he is all alone.  He wants someone to be with him.

I don't know where you are in this life, but I know that there are times when you probably feel all alone.  It doesn't matter whether you are in the darkness or in the light.  When you feel all alone, it is not a comfortable place to be.  Most of us just want someone to be with us.  But I want to tell you what my dad told me over and over again, and what I am now telling my son over and over again: "You are not alone!"  If you are a child of God, you can rest in the promises of God.  And one of His greatest promises is this: "I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5)."  He promises, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9)."  And then we see Samuel telling God's children that even though they had sinned before Him and done many wrong things in His sight, God would not reject His children.  Samuel cried out in 1 Samuel 12:22, "For the sake of His great name the Lord will not reject His people, because the Lord was pleased to make you His own."  Aren't you glad that our relationship with God is based on what Jesus has done rather than being based on what we have done?  Aren't you glad that even when we are unfaithful, God is always faithful?  No matter where you are right now, God loves you!  No matter where you are right now, God is with you!  Call out to Him, and allow His presence to strengthen you where you are today!  You are not alone!

I would love to hear your comments...
