"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me." Psalm 28:7
Many times the circumstances of life cripple us. The weight of our hopelessness is heavy. We don't have enough time in the day to finish our work. Our bills continue to pile up. Poor decisions we made yesterday are catching up with us today, and we can't outrun them. Our kids are struggling in their identities, struggling to find places of belonging. These are just a few of the circumstance many of us face day in and day out. We are allowing the world, even ourselves, to drain us of all our hope. But thank God for the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the hope for the hopeless. David cried out to God in Psalm 28:6-9. "Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever." David was without hope. He needed God, and he recognized that God was his hope. He depended on God for strength and for help. And God did not let him down! If you need hope, you need to turn to God. He will give you strength for the circumstances of life. He will give you hope when you are hopeless. He is bigger than the circumstances of life. God will not let you down!
