"You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country." Deuteronomy 28:3
This morning I woke up thankful to God. I am a blessed man. I may not have everything I want, but I do have everything I need. I am blessed with family and friends. I am blessed with a home. I am blessed with food on my table. I am blessed with a church family that loves me, a church family with whom I can serve daily. Sometimes, we go through difficult situations, and it is easy to forget just how blessed we really are. Sometimes the difficulty is a financial struggle. Sometimes the difficulty is a physical ailment. Sometimes the difficulty is a relational one. But if you are a child of God and you are obediently serving Him, you will be blessed!
Deuteronomy 28:1-6 says, "If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock - the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and when you go out." The blessings of God are not passively handed down by God on His people. The blessings of God are dynamic and powerful for His children who actively obey Him. God's blessings aren't limited; they are unlimited! God's blessings come in many shapes and sizes. His blessings can be emotional, relational, physical, financial, or spiritual. He gives you what you need when you need it, according to His perfect will. But the point is this: when you obey the Lord and serve Him wholeheartedly, you will be blessed!!!
