Whom shall I fear?

"The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?"   Psalm 27:1-2

These are the words of David in Psalm 27:1-2, "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?"  He says again in Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me."  Throughout the Psalms, we hear David's words of encouragement for those who trust in God.  David had many enemies on every side.  David made many mistakes.  At times, it may have seemed that the world was crashing in on David, but he continued to trust in God.  God was his light.  God was his salvation.  God was his stronghold.  God was his shield.  David continued to ask himself, "Whom shall I fear?" and "Of whom shall I be afraid?"

Today, you may have enemies at every side.  You may have made many mistakes.  The most important question to ask and to answer is this one:  Do you trust in God?  If you do, then remind yourself as David did that God is your light, your salvation, your stronghold, and your shield.  Paul says in Romans 8:31, "If God is for us, who can be against us?"  He says in Romans 8:37, "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."  Today, you have a choice to let your fear have its way with you or let your trust in God drive out your fear.  Which one will you choose, fear or trust???

I would love to hear your comments...
