"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." Psalm 100:4
Yesterday, my sister-in-law and her family flew in from New York to spend the week with us. When we saw each other's faces, our smiles could have filled up the Grand Canyon! Our kids were hugging each other; we were hugging each other. It was a beautiful site and an even more beautiful feeling. The voices of my wife and sister-in-law chatting away...the voices of our kids playing into the night...I love the beautiful noise that my family makes. I am thankful to God for family. I was raised by a mom and dad who have always loved me. I have two amazing brothers who have always been there for me. I love them and their families dearly. God blessed me with a God-fearing wife and Godmazing children! My in-laws have always treated me as their own. Yes, I am a blessed and thankful man!
I know that there are many people who struggle in family relationships. Believe me, we have had our struggles. But I thank God for the family. I read Psalm 100 this morning: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." As much as I love my family and am thankful for them, I love God and am thankful for Him even more! I don't deserve all that I have, especially my family. He is so good to me; He meets my every need. I can't help but praise Him! I praise God for who He is...my Father! I praise Him for the gift of family! I am thankful!
