My God is always faithful…

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments."   Deuteronomy 7:9

One of my favorite bands today is Hawk Nelson.  I love the fact that I, my wife, and my kids know all the words to every song on their new album, Made.  One of our favorite songs on the album is a song entitled, "Faithful."  The chorus of the song goes like this: "No matter how many skies fall down / I'm covered under the peace I've found / You're my shelter when there's nowhere else to go / No matter how many times I break / You promise always to keep me safe / You're my rescue when I'm spinning out of control / You are faithful, faithful / You are faithful, faithful."

In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses had to remind the people that God is faithful.  God had promised Abraham and his descendants the land of Canaan many years earlier.  The people had wandered in the desert for 40 years because of their rebellious spirit.  But even in their rebellion, God remained faithful.  Moses says in Deuteronomy 7:9, "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments."  Time and time again, Moses reminded the people of God's holiness and sovereignty.  But he also reminded them of His faithfulness.  In Deuteronomy 32, Moses' song is recorded.  In verse 3 and 4, he sings, "I will proclaim the name of the Lord.  Oh, praise the greatness of our God!  He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.  A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he."  No matter where you are in life, you can trust God.  He is faithful!  God is the same in the valley as He is on the mountaintop.  He is faithful!  2 Timothy 2:13 reminds us of this: "If we are faithless, he remains faithful."  Another quote from Hawk Nelson's song that I find myself singing all day long (like Moses sang) is this one: "My God is always faithful!  My God is always faithful!"  Today, you need to sing this out no matter where you are..."My God is always faithful!"...and believe it and live it!!!

I would love to hear your comments...
