"Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love." Psalm 33:1-5
Today, we will get in our cars and trucks, and we will turn on our radios. Songs that we know will pound through our speakers, and we will begin to sing along. People driving beside us on the road will laugh at us as we sing to the top of our lungs! How do I know this? I have seen people laughing at me while I was singing along with my radio. And I, too, have laughed at people singing along to their favorite songs on the radio. Today, I tried something different. I turned the radio off, and I began to sing out my favorite hymn, "Victory in Jesus!" Then, I started singing out, "How Great Is Our God!" If you were riding by when this was going on, you probably still laughed at me. However, it was a special time for me. I love God, and I am thankful for His love for me. He is faithful in every area of my life. His love is overwhelming and unfailing! The least I can do is sing His praises and shout for joy! And what I realized this morning is this: I DON'T DO IT ENOUGH! Do you sing God's praises often enough? Do you shout for joy to the Lord enough? Let's make every effort to sing to the Lord and shout for joy to Him more often...both privately and publicly!
