"The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 'Return home and tell how much God has done for you.' So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him." Luke 8:38-39
One of the miracles Jesus performed during His earthly ministry was recorded in Luke 8. Jesus had sailed across the lake from Galilee into the region of Gerasenes. He was met there by a demon-possessed man named Legion. Jesus restored this man, and he wanted to stay with Jesus. However, Jesus had even better plans for him. He told the man to "return home and tell how much God has done for you." Everyone knew the before and after story of this man. They knew that he was possessed, and now they could clearly see the difference...the difference Jesus had made. And the Bible says this man obeyed. Verse 39 says, "So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him."
Many times we think that witnessing to others is difficult. We use a lot of excuses, don't we? I can't remember the Roman Road. I can't remember the Faith Outline. I get really nervous trying to talk to someone about God. The list can go on and on. What if we tried to witness just like this man in Luke 8 did? What if we just told others how much Jesus has done for us? It is really not that difficult. We can tell others about our life before Christ, and then we can tell others about the difference He has made since He saved us. How much has God done for you??? Are you willing to tell someone else about it???
