"I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me." Romans 15:30
Paul was one of the first extreme missionaries for God! He traveled to many places and faced many difficulties as he delivered the good news to people who needed to hear it. And though it may seem that many times he traveled alone, Paul was never alone. God was with him. And the prayers of his brothers and sisters in Christ were with him, as well. Throughout many of the letters Paul wrote to the churches, he consistently asked for prayer for himself. In Romans 15:30, he asked them to "join me in my struggle by praying to God for me." In Philippians 1, Paul prays for his fellow believers and calls their relationship a "partnership in the gospel." In Ephesians 6:18-20, he asked his brothers and sisters in Christ to pray: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." Paul was an extreme missionary, with an extreme family of prayer warriors who continuously lifted him up in the Lord!
Tomorrow morning, I will embark on an extreme missionary journey with several of my fellowship family members and the XMA team. We will go to remote places, and by the power and the will of God, we will meet both the physical and the spiritual needs of the people we encounter. However, this journey didn't just happen. This journey has been taking place for years. Many men and women have gone on these extreme missionary journeys. Other men and women who have not physically gone to these remote places have given financially and prayerfully. This specific journey has been prayed over for many months now. Many people have donated financially so that we can make this journey. I like the way Paul worded it in Philippians 1: We are a "partnership in the gospel." I am asking all of you to "join me in my struggle by praying to God for me" and for my fellowship family going with me. Pray that we "will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel" and that we "may declare it fearlessly!" Pray for XMA as they continue to seek God's will and go to the remote places of the world to spread the gospel. Pray for our families that we leave behind, for their safety and their concerns. Thank you for being an extreme family of prayer warriors for us! Thank you for lifting us up daily in the Lord! Thank you for the extreme partnership in the gospel!
