"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
The Great Commission is one of the most quoted Scriptures in all of the Bible. It is a reminder to all Christ followers that Jesus wants us to tell others about God's love and plan of redemption, not just at home but throughout the world. We are to "go and make disciples of all nations." We are to teach them and show them what God's love is all about. We are to baptize them "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." We are to teach them and to show them how to walk obediently in God's commands. Last week I had the opportunity to go with several of my brothers and sisters in Christ and do just that. Through our partners at XMA, we were able to meet both physical and spiritual needs of many people in a foreign country. Though we were separated by thousands of miles of water and of mountains, God made a way for us to go. God also gave people back home an opportunity to partner with us on this trip. Many people donated financially to help pay our way to travel and to purchase medicines and other supplies we desperately needed. Many people spent hours upon hours sewing dolls and clothes to give to the people we would encounter. Many people prayed for us before the trip and during the trip. They prayed for God to move powerfully in the hearts and the minds of everyone. This was definitely a team effort! Many brothers and sisters in Christ came together in a spirit of unity to spread the Word of God and the love of God to people who needed to see it and to hear it. It was a wonderful week where we were able to minister to over 530 people on the mountain. We were able to see God rescue 17 souls with salvation in Jesus Christ! God is so good! He is still working powerfully in our world, and He is calling all of us "to go." Go to the homes…to the schools…to the workplaces…to the streets…to the states…to the nations…to the world…and proclaim the good news. Jesus Christ came to die for our sins, to restore us into a right relationship with God, and to give us a full life and an eternal life with God. Go!!!
