"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'" Romans 10:14-15
I continue to thank God for the opportunity to go to Nicaragua last week. It was a life-changing experience for all of us who went and to the people whom we were able to minister. God gave us the opportunity to meet many physical needs through medicines, clothing, and toys. But most importantly, God gave us the opportunity to share Christ with everyone we came in contact with last week. In Romans, Paul said, "How beautiful the feet of those who bring good news!" The good news is that God loves us and sent His Son to live and to die for us. Jesus defeated sin and death with His perfect life, with His sacrificial death, and with His resurrection. When we admit our sin before God and believe in our hearts in Jesus Christ, God forgives us and redeems us and gives us life, full life…eternal life. That is the good news! Everyone needs to hear the good news, especially those in the remote places where preachers and teachers and Bibles are scarce. Paul reminds us in Romans that people can't believe in the one they have not heard about. He reminds us that someone has to be sent out to preach the good news. I thank God for sending me and my friends out last week to the mountains of Nicaragua to share the good news. I thank God for all of those men and women who have been sent to remote places all over the world to share the good news. May God continue to send us out to share the good news…both at home and abroad!!!
