A left-handed man…

"Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer - Ehud, a left-handed man."  "That day Moab was made subject to Israel, and the land had peace for eighty years."   Judges 3:15, 30

Once again, we find the Israelites turning from God in the book of Judges.  Judges 3:12 says, "Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel."  So the Moabites, the Ammonites, and the Amalekites ruled over Israel.  Judges 3:14 says that they had rule over Israel for 18 years!  But verse 15 uses the word "again" again.  This time "again" is used in a positive way.  The Israelites turned back to God, and they cried out to Him.  He heard their cries, and He lifted up a left-handed man, Ehud, to deliver them.  There is a good reason that I like this story: I, too, am a left-handed man:)  And if you like a good story with a twist of humor, then read Judges 3:15-30.  Ehud was a clever man, and his fight against King Eglon of Moab is very interesting to say the least.  Ehud kills King Eglon and leads the Israelites to victory over their enemies.  And Judges 3:30 says that God gave them "peace for eighty years."  Again (there's that word), God's way = peace; and man's way = disaster.  Will the Israelites every truly get that?  WILL WE EVER TRULY GET THAT???

I would love to hear your comments...
