"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:46-47
As a kid, my favorite day of the week was Saturday. I loved to go outside and play basketball or baseball with my brothers and work in the yard with my dad. When I got into middle school and high school, my favorite days of the week were Tuesday and Friday. Those are the days that I got to play ball with my teammates at school. Today, my favorite day of the week is Sunday. I love gathering with my brothers and sisters at Start Baptist Church! We eat together, fellowship together, pray together, and worship the Lord together. In the book of Acts, we find out just how important it is to gather with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Acts 2:47 says, "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." As you read the passage from verse 42 through 47, the believers came together to study, to eat, and to pray. They did this in their homes, and they did this in the temple courts. And the result of their togetherness was the Lord moving powerfully, adding to their number. Today is an opportunity to do what the early believers did in the book of Acts. Today is another opportunity to be together in worship. I pray for all the churches today. May we all lift up the Lord in fellowship, in prayer, and in worship today. And may the Lord add to their number daily!!!
