"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!
There is nothing greater in the life of a family, a church, or a community that for someone to become a Christ follower! It is the greatest miracle and the greatest transformation that can take place in the life of an individual. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." And Romans 6:23 begins by saying, "For the wages of sin is death." That means a physical death and a spiritual death. It means to be separated from God now and for eternity. However, Romans 6:23 goes on to say, "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Jesus said in John 10:10, "I have come so that you may have life and have it to the full." Even though we deserve death because of our sin, God has made a way for us to have life...not because we earn it or deserve it. No, it is His grace. It is His love for us. He made a way for us when we couldn't make a way for ourselves. Jesus is the way. Paul goes on in Romans 10:9-13 to say, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, 'Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.' For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Praise God for salvation that comes through Jesus Christ!
Today, I praise God for a friend whose spouse recently accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! In the blink of an eye, life change came to this individual. And life change will continue to take place in this individual's life and in the life of this sweet family! God is so good to us! We don't deserve His goodness, and we certainly could never earn it. However, God loves us so much that He gave and He keeps on giving! He gave His Son once and for all. He gave and He gives His love continuously each and every day! Not that is something to shout about! AMEN!!!
