"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn - shout for joy before the Lord, the King." Psalm 98:4-6
This morning I stepped outside, and I heard a beautiful noise. I heard the birds singing loudly, as they perched in the trees in my backyard. I heard the sounds of ducks splashing down into my pond and playing in the water. The cats were purring loudly as I walked by them on my way to my truck. I just stood there for a moment, soaking up the sounds of the beautiful noise that was being made all around me. I couldn't help but think about what it sounds like to God when His creation is singing and shouting. It reminded me of this passage in Psalm 98:4-6, especially verse 4. "Shout for joy to the Lord, ALL THE EARTH, burst into jubilant song with music." Back in Psalm 96, the first three verses say this: "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, ALL THE EARTH. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." If the birds, the ducks, and the cats can make a beautiful noise early in the morning to the Creator, then surely we can, too. We have so much to sing and to shout about! God is so good to us! He has saved us from our sins through His Son, Jesus Christ. He sustains us day after day with His love and His kindness. Today, let's join in with the animals and nature, and let's sing and shout to the Lord! ALL THE EARTH, let's shout for joy to the Lord!!!
