Praying for Students…

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."   Colossians 3:17

Yesterday, I began a prayer for the teachers and educators as they begin a new school year.  Today I would like to continue that prayer in praying for the students.  Our students will face many challenges this school year...in the classrooms, on the ballfields, and everywhere in between.  They will need our prayers and our encouragement every single day!  Students will face stress with homework, tests, games, and friends.  It will affect them physically, mentally, and socially.  However, students will also have opportunities to rise above all of these challenges; they will have opportunities to conquer all of these challenges.  I believe students can positively impact their teachers and leaders in their schools!  It can happen and will happen when they are prayed for and encouraged by the people in their communities.  I hope that you will pledge to pray for our students this school year.  Paul says it best in Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Heavenly Father, I pray for our students this school year.  I lift them up to You, and I ask that You protect them from any harm...from without and from within.  I lift them up to You, and I ask that You give them wisdom and knowledge to do their best in class this year.  Help them as they complete their homework and as they take their tests.  Help them as they compete on the ballfields.  Help them in their relationships with one another, and I pray that they will encourage each other and not be a part of discouraging situations.  I pray that You will not only bless the students this year, but I also pray that they will be a blessing to You and to all the teachers and educators in their schools.  May the students rise up and conquer the challenges that will come their way this year.  And most of all, I pray that the students will realize the challenge You have given them in Your Word...to do everything, whether word or deed, in the name of Jesus!  I love You, Lord, and I thank You for hearing our prayers for the students; and I expect great things this school year from our students because You are a great God!!!  Amen.

I would love to hear your comments...
