"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:23-25
If you missed meeting together with your church family yesterday, you not only missed the opportunity to be blessed but you also missed to the opportunity to be a blessing. I've had people say to me all the time, "It doesn't really matter if I am at church or not; I'm not important." However, if you believe that type of statement then you are believing a lie that Satan wants you to believe. God's Word tells us that if we belong to Him through a relationship with Jesus Christ then we are His children, His special possessions. To believe that you are not important and that it doesn't matter whether you meet together with your church family is to believe that they church family is not important and that meeting together is not important. To believe that meeting together with the church family is not important is to believe that God's Word is not true. Hebrews 10:25 clearly says, "LET US NOT GIVE UP MEETING TOGETHER, AS SOME ARE IN THE HABIT OF DOING, BUT LET US ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER - ALL THE MORE AS YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING." Meeting together with your brothers and sisters in Christ is very important! God's Word tells us that we have the opportunity to both encourage others and be encouraged by others. We have the opportunity to spur others on toward love and good deeds, and they have the opportunity to spur us on toward love and good deeds. When you miss meeting together with your church family, you are missed by your church family. You are important! The church is important! Meeting together is important! Jesus gave Himself up for the church (Ephesians 5:25). His blood was shed for the church (Acts 20:28). Instead of making excuses and instead of believing the lies of Satan, believe God's Word. Let us not give up meeting together...whenever and wherever...with our brothers and sisters in Christ, our church family! Amen!
