Saturated

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts."   Colossians 3:15-16

This morning as I left my hotel, I could feel a light mist falling from the sky. I almost got a taxi, but I didn't think it was that bad. I decided to walk to the convention center; it was only four blocks away. The light mist turned into a light sprinkle, and by the time I walked into the convention center my shirt was saturated. SATURATED. It means "to cause to unite with the greatest possible amount of another substance; to soak completely or fully." Over the past few days, I have been reading the Word of God and hearing many preachers preaching the Word of God boldly and passionately. I have been worshiping with many brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the country. In other words, I have been SATURATED with the Word of God, with the worship of God, and with the fellowship of the body of Christ! Paul told us in Colossians to let peace and thankfulness and the Word of God dwell in us...let it flow from us. The only way these things will flow from us is if they are in us...completely and fully...SATURATED. As the pastor of Start Baptist Church, I need to be SATURATED by God's presence. And as Start Baptist Church, we need to SATURATE our community of Start with God's Word, God's love, and God's praises. All of us have opportunities to make differences in our homes, in our churches, and in our communities. It can and will happen when we are SATURATED with God! Believe it! Claim it! Live it!

I would love to hear your comments...
