"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." Ephesians 6:18
Last night, my heart was broken. I was coming home from my kids' high school football game, and an announcement on the radio shook me. "Please pray for the young man severely injured at the Franklin Parish High School football game." I immediately went into prayer mode. I have been around high school sports most of my life, as a player and as a coach. I know the possibilities that exist, especially in all of the contact sports and in the extreme heat. I didn't know who this young man was, but I knew one of their coaches very well. I was praying for them all. As soon as I pulled into my driveway, the official announcement was made: "The young man from Franklin Parish High School has passed away tonight." Today my heart is still broken for the family of Tyrell Cameron. My heart is broken for his teammates and for the team they were playing against, for everyone who was there at the game. Today and in the days ahead let's be in special prayer for Tyrell Cameron's immediate family...extended family and friends...his Franklin Parish High School football team and school. May God's overwhelming love and mercy and grace and peace be with everyone impacted by Tyrell's passing. Today, we are all Patriots!
