"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
Yesterday I could not stop thinking about Jesus' love for me. He loves me so much that He died on the cross for my sins. He rose from the grave and defeated sin and defeated death for me so that I can live life fully and have life eternally. Today I can't stop thinking about How much Jesus cares for me. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Jesus' love for me is an active love. Jesus demonstrated His perfect love for me on the cross, but His perfect love continues to work in my life through His compassion, mercy, and care for me. One of my favorite passages in the Bible is found in Psalm 103:11-14, where the writer says, "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed; He remembers that we are dust." God knows me. He created me, and He knows what I need and when I need it. He knows all of my sin. He knows all of my faults and failures. He knows all of my struggles. At the right time and in the right place, Jesus came and gave His life for me. And His compassion, His mercy, and His care for me never ends. Lamentations 3:22-23 says, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Today I need to think about His love for me. I need to think about His compassion and His mercy and His care. They are new every single day! He is faithful! Jesus cares for me!
