Keeping First Things First

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."   1 Corinthians 15:3-4

What comes first, A or B?  The answer is pretty simple: A.  What comes first, 1 or 2?  The answer is pretty simple: 1.  As Christ followers, everything we say and do must come from the gospel of Jesus.  It is simple.  Jesus lived, Jesus died and was buried, and Jesus rose from the grave.  He defeated sin and death, once and for all.  All of our prayers, all of our worship, and all of our service to God and to people should flow from the gospel of Jesus.  We are not in a right relationship with God because of what we have done, are doing, or will do; we are in a right relationship with God because of what Jesus has already done.  The gospel of Jesus is "of first importance" for the Christ follower.  Let's keep that in mind today as we pray, as we worship, and as we serve God and people.  Keeping first things first will make all the difference in everything we say and in everything we do.
