Three Words

Jesus tells me in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  Peter tells me in 1  Peter 5:8, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."  I have no doubt that Satan wants to attack me today.  I have no doubt that Satan wants to steal from me; he wants to kill me; he wants to destroy me; he wants to devour me.  God's Word is crystal clear.  God's Word also tells me in Genesis 3 that Satan is "more crafty than any of the wild animals" He has created.  Satan will attack and tempt me in any and every way possible.  Satan even tried to attack and tempt Jesus in the wilderness in Matthew 4.  However, Jesus showed me the way to defend myself when Satan comes at me today.  Jesus relied on God; He relied on the Word of God.  Three times Satan tempted Jesus, and three times Jesus said three very powerful words: "IT IS WRITTEN!"  Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"  He said in Matthew 4:7, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"  And finally, Jesus said in Matthew 4:10, "Away from me, Satan!  For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"  Verse 11 says, "Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him."  Peter tells me in 1 Peter 5:9, "Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings."

Today, I am of sober mind and alert to the fact that Satan will do anything and everything he can to ruin me and/or ruin my day.  Today, I am leaning on Almighty God and the very powerful Word of God.  Today, I will use the three words Jesus used: IT IS WRITTEN!  Today, I will resist Satan and stand firm in the faith!  I will believe it!  I will claim it!  I will live it!

I would love to hear your comments...
