Today I am listening to Lecrae's new album, Anomaly.  It is an amazing album with great lyrics that speak the gospel truth!  He even made a special guest appearance last night on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon. His album is the number one album in the country, across all genres! He is reaching many people with the message of Christ! I'll also be listening to For King and Country's new album, Run Wild.Live Free.Love Strong. It's another great album by a great band with amazing lyrics, as well. I hope you have a great weekend! I pray that you will not only be blessed, but I also pray that you will be a blessing!!!

This book never gets old!!!

Barbarian Way

I've read this book three or four times now, but it never gets old.  I love The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus.  He is one of my favorite pastors and writers.  I want to share with you two quotes from the book: "Perhaps the tragedy of our time is that such an overwhelming number of us who declare Jesus as Lord have become domesticated - of, if you will, civilized.  We have lost the simplicity of our early faith.  Beyond that, we have lost the passion and power of that raw, untamed, and primal faith."  McManus goes on to say, "The barbarian way is about love, intimacy, passion, and sacrifice.  Barbarians love to live and live to love.  For them God is life, and their mission is to reconnect humanity to Him.  Their passion is that each of us might live in intimate communion with Him who died for us.  The barbarian way is a path of both spirit and truth.  The soul of the barbarian is made alive by the presence of Jesus."  The more I look around me, the more I realize that I have it made as an American Christian.  I enjoy many of life's luxuries...most of them within my short reach on a moment's notice.  I am spoiled to the easy life that these luxuries bring me.  If I am not careful, I begin to believe that being a Christ follower is about my safety and my comfort.  If I am not careful, I begin to believe that sharing the gospel and sharing my so-called faith is about me rather than about my King.  Thank you, McManus, for reminding me of my barbarian heritage.  Thank you for challenging me to fight for the heart of my King, regardless of the comfort or the cost.  If you've never read this book, I encourage you to pick up a copy and give it a read.  If you've already read this book, I encourage to open up the pages again and be challenged all over again!
